The Albanian Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, met this Monday with the
Italian Vice Secretary of State for Foreign Policy, Vincenzo Amendola,
in a meeting that focused on improving bilateral relations.
Amendola congratulated Meta for being voted President: “Albania can always rely on Italy as a traditional and stable partner”, he declared.
Speaker Meta valued the excellent partnership and Italy’s role with the stability of Balkan. He underlined that Albania’s social and economic development should not be damaged by the lack of dialogue and political irresponsibility.
“We need a more European approach for overcoming the current political stalemate”, Meta said, adding that “it is never too late to find a responsible and all-inclusive solution to help the stability in the country, in order to open the EU accession negotiations the soonest possible”.
