The SPAK Special Prosecution Office has reopened the investigation on abuses in the purchase of police uniforms for which 10former officials are charged with violating equality in tenders.

A judge at the Anti-Corruption Court will assess the work of the SPAK as to whether or not it has fully investigated the scandal.

At the closure of the investigation, SPAK stated that the former director of police purchases Edlira Naqellari along with members of the selection commissions, influenced the selection of the winning company, as well as the amount of uniforms purchased.

Each of the defendants has insisted that they have only performed their tasks, in line with the expected quantities of the product but also for the prices offered and the equiping with the electronic distribution system.
