SP: Urgent Municipal Council meeting

07/09/2011 22:35

Municipality Councilors of the Socialist Party in Tirana presented an
agenda with 4 requests to the extraordinary meeting of the Municipal
Council, focusing on what the Socialists consider as a cleansing
campaign against the Municipality employees and the violent physical attack
of the Chief of the Municipality Police against two Tax Office
employees.

One of the requests at the extraordinary meeting of the Municipal Council, signed by the head of the Socialist Group, Aldrin Dalipi, is for removing from duty the director of the Municipal Police, whom the Socialist blame for the physical and verbal violence against the two female employees.

Socialist councilors also asked detailed information for the exact number of the people who have been dismissed in the last two months, and the motives for each of them.

But the Socialists at the Tirana Municipal Council were not satisfied only with the extraordinary meeting of the local assembly. Through a second letter, Aldrin Dalipi addresses to the Socialist MPs for raising this case in a national level, at the Albanian Parliament. They suggest them to summon the Prime Minister Sali Berisha in an urgent interpellation.

According to the opposition Municipal Councilors, the Socialist MPs should ask the Prime Minister to respond for what they consider a degeneration of the State Police, at the point of using violence against innocent women.

For the Socialist councilors, the appeal of the Prime Minister in an interpellation is the least that they can do for hearing the citizens’ voice.
