Bledar Cuci, Co-Chairman of the Special Commission for the Electoral
Reform, declared that the majority will sit for discussion without
previous conditions and without a prepared draft.
“You cannot enter the commission with specific agendas, especially for such controversial matters. Not only in Albania, but in Europe and around the world as well. Certainly we will take a closer look to the electronic voting and ballot count, since we know that these terrains cannot be trusted at 100%. It has been proven in states with a more developed infrastructure”, Cuci declared.
However, the Socialists remain loyal to the request for allowing emigrants to vote. They see it as an obligation to our citizens living abroad. “We are not going to make experiments. Let’s not forget that we have an electoral list which includes all immigrants as voters. On one hand we include them in the list, on the other hand we deny them the right to vote”, Cuci said.
