The Socialist Party requested new elections for the Mallakastra Municipality, since the current Mayor, Agron Kapllanaj, is affected by the decriminalization law.
The General Secretary of the Socailist Party, Taulant Balla, said that the Central Election Commission will review the Prosecution’s decision for Kapllanaj, but, he says, the Prosecution has closed one eye for the Mayor of Mallakastra, representative of the Democratic Party.
“Completely against the law, the Prosecution has admitted that Kapllanaj is affected by the decriminalization, due to a sentence in for robbery. However, the Prosecution closes one eye for representatives of the Democratic Party”
