SP files second appeal

Some minutes earlier, the Socialist Party lawyers finished the next
appeal for the Electoral College, requesting the rejection Central Election Commission’s Decision no. 1158 dated 20 June 2011,
which is the first principle request.

The second appeal asks to consider as invalid the voting process in 284 centers where the Socialists argued that there have been detected severe problems. The violations and its consequences have been summarized in this appeal for which was commissioned Democratic Party MP, Fatmir Xhafaj.

The appeal request says that according to the result tables, created by Local Counting Groups, CEC itself has found severe inconsistencies, which are not caused by any human error, because in that case they would have been fixable. They say that these inconsistencies are product of the counting process itself, which prove the severe law violations.

All these facts are flagrant law violations, consequence of decisions that go against the electoral law. Summary table inconsistencies are a violation of the Electoral Code, says the appeal of the Socialist Party. According to them, based on article 3.4 of the Electoral Code and since 35% of the boxes had severe problems, their integrity and safety is damaged. This puts in discussion the integrity of the electoral materials that are inside these boxes, and as consequence the validity of the CEC decision itself, as object of this appeal.
