Despite the constant remarks from the opposition and the Civil Society,
the government of Prime Minister Berisha has decided to lease cultural
heritage objects, such as castles and other historic sites.

Socialist Party Parliament Member, Auron Tare, declared that this is a ruin that is being made to the irreplaceable cultural heritage.

“The government of ruin, decided through the Culture Minister to sell the national heritage objects. This effort is being made now that the family of Prime Minister Berisha is about to go. After selling every natural asset, after giving away every hill to quarries and cement factories; after he sold all forests for cobbles, and after giving in concession every river, Berisha is selling today even the national cultural heritage objects”, Tare declared.

Mr.Tare sent a warning message to everyone that is involved or who has business interests with these objects.

“Despite the efforts of the Civil Society and specialists to stop this illogical and damaging action for our cultural heritage, the government has taken a decision that will put the Minister of Culture in the list of those who have damaged our cultural heritage. The Socialist Party appeals everyone who is tempted by this last effort of the Albanian government to buy a few votes even with the National Monuments that after the June 23rd elections we will recognize no agreement that is related with the cultural heritage interests”, Tare declared.

The Socialist Party Parliament Member promised that after the June 23rd elections, all cultural monuments will not only be protected and restored, but they will be put to the service of tourism and the communities around them.
