The Socialist Parliamentary Group discussed today the referendum that
passed at the Socialist Party Congress about the mandate of the party
leader.
MP Ben Blushi asked about the technicalities, including the question if the person who asked for the referendum will be allowed to make a campaign.
Although the organizer of the referendum was present in the meeting, PM Rama received the answer from Gramoz Ruci. A source from the Socialist Group said for Top Channel that the stance of Ruci was definitive.
“There is no reason to make a campaign as long as the memebrs are called to give an opinion. Whoever wants to start a campaign, will be free to do it”, he said.
Ruci explained the essence on which the question will be formulated: “If the party wins the parliamentary elections and the leader has a mandate as Prime Minister, is he allowed to continue with his mandate as party leader. Yes or no?”
Ben Blushi didn’t make any comment, while MP Koco Kokedhima continued the debate he had started with Ruci the past week, showing their disagreements: “The reform that we held in our party is widely supported by the party and the citizens of the region”, Kokedhima declared.
