SP, Balla:”No political candidacies from unvetted Judges and Prosecutors”

“Our proposition is that judges who didn’t go through the vetting
process, but were resigned, should not run for political parties in June
18th”, said MP Taulant Balla on behalf of the Socialist Party
Parliamentary Group.

“The proposition is about an annex of the Electoral Code, to prevent inclusion in list of candidates who have not been part of the vetting process”, Balla said.

“Parliament has already voted to not allow people with criminal convictions to be part of the candidate lists, but we will not allow even judges and prosecutors who have not been vetted. We propose to discuss this at the commission of laws, but if the Democratic Party keeps boycotting it, we will file the proposition through legal methods, based on the Parliament’s regulation”, Balla added.
