SP and SMI postponed the coalition

April 20th is the final deadline for the coalitions to register at the Central Election Commission.

While the Democratic Party has not registered yet, the Socialist Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration have made a request to CEC for postponing the deadline of coalitions, as results, also for the registration in the elections.

Gramoz Ruci from the SP and Luan Rama from the SMI based their request on their common desire to give another chance to the dialogue with the opposition, so that everyone can be part of the June 18th elections.

The letter of the two majority groups doesn’t say for how long will they postpone it, but the situation is unprecedented ant it will be difficult to predict what CEC is going to do.

If the CEC postpones it with a few days, there could be a chance for negotiations, until the arrival of the German negotiator, David McAllister.

With this decision, the SP and SMI will give more time to themselves for how they will run for the next elections, if all dialogue options are exhausted.
