A ceremony was held in Tirana for the ending of Romania’s Presidency of the EU Council, attended by the Ambassador of the EU Delegation in Albania, Luigi Soreca, and the Romanian Ambassador, Mircea Perpelea.

Soreca said that the Russian Presidency has made good efforts in the region, despite the heated political climate that they had to be confronted with.

Part of the Romanian agenda was also the enlargement of the EU, with Albania as well. Soreca thanked Romania also for giving positive recommendations regarding Albania.

The Romanian ambassador declared that Romania has worked hard for a further enlargement of the EU, and has tried to stand by the countries that aspire full integration.

“We had good results and we also tried to stay neutral. We were able to reach pur priorities in Western Balkan, especially in Albania. Romania has given positive results for Albania’s further EU integration, always with positive thoughts”, Perpelea declared.
