The problem for enlarging the Tufina and Sharra cemeteries has been
resolved for at least three years, after a decision taken by the
Albanian government.
The details were given by Minister Saimir Tahiri, who announced the creation of a workgroup that would bring a solution to this problem not only for Tirana, but in a national scale.
“The government approved a decision for expropriating owners who are affected by the rehabilitation of the Sharra and Tufina cemeteries. The fund is 5 million ALL. There are 36.000 square meters, respectively 10.000 square meters in Sharra and 26.000 in Tufina. If the past administration would have worked with the citizens, rather than with the Democratic Party, we would have avoided this situation”, Tahiri declared.
The Tirana Municipality declared that Tahiri’s justification for blocking the expropriation of the public cemetery for the Albanian capital is untrue. “The Minister tried to hide his absurd incompetence, irresponsibility and blockage by attacking the Municipality of Tirana”, the announcement says.
Minister Tahiri declared that another decision of the government was taken for accepting without passing the test all the children of police officers who were killed on duty. Minister of Finances, Shkelqim Cani, announced another decision for removing double taxes for businesses who operate in Albania and Kosovo.
The Health Minister declared that another decision is the transferring of the funds for helping a normal functionality of the Presheva Maternity hospital, a joint commitment between the Albanian and the Kosovo governments in Prizren.
