A wide operation of the Durres, Lezhe and Tirana Police, brought the
destruction of a criminal network of production and selling of remotely
controlled bombs.

Seven remotely controlled mines and C4 explosives were caught by the Durres Police, while three others have been arrested, all professional soldiers of the 1010 division in the Vau I Dejes, Shkoder.

The investigations on this criminal group started three months ago, after the Durres Police was notified about a traffic of remotely controlled mines from Monte Negro to Albania and Greece.

During this operation was made possible the identification and arrest of three organizers of this traffic, who are professional soldiers of the Vau i Dejes Division, Kleo Gjinkola, 22, from Shengjin. Alban Dodaj, 22, from Laim i Ri from Lezhe, and Fran Kola, 25, from the Balldre village of Lezhe.

During this investigation, the police discovered the entire mechanism of this criminal activity, with each of these citizens having a key role in the traffic, from supplying the C4 in Montenegro, to mounting them with cell phones and selling them in our country and in Greece.

The investigations showed that these citizens had sold remotely controlled mines varying from 1800 to 2500 EUR.

The police is working to find out if there is any connection between these suspects and the recent explosive attacks, one of which took place in Tirana this Monday, when a vehicle exploded leaving three people injured.

Although police initially thought the explosion came from the gas implant installed in the vehicle, police say that it was explosive, but they haven’t identified the type and the quantity yet.

As result, the driver had a serious injury, hospitalized a the trauma hospital in serious conditions. The two other people that were in the car have received light damages.

The investigators have two leads. The first one is connected to a property conflict in 2011, when Sulejman Allushi and his two cousins were involved in a fight with Artur Zallini, who was injured.

The second lead is related to the family relations of Sulejman Allushi, Director of the Detention Center no.313, which holds some noted criminals, starting from Ndricim Gjokona, the justice collaborator from the “Dynamite band”; Dritan Dajti, Jetmir Llani and many other criminals who are waiting trial. The investigators are collecting evidence and are waiting for Allushi’s health to improve and question him.
