The Socialist party commemorated today the killing of 4 protesters on January 21, 2011 on ‘Deshmoret e Kombit’ Boulevard.

In the ceremony, red carnations were placed on the four commemorative plaques of the fallen, which earlier Prime Minister Edi Rama had declared Martyrs of the Homeland.

Prime Minister Edi Rama led the laying of flowers, while many citizens of Tirana had come for homages. The memorial ceremony on the boulevard was preceded by a meeting at the Prime Minister’s office between the head of government and the families of the victims Ziver Veizi, Faik Myrtaj, Hekuran Deda and Aleks Nika.

For the 4 murders of January 21 and those who were injured, only the national guard member Agim Llupo and the former head of the national guard Ndrea Prendi were convicted.

Investigations have failed to uncover those who ordered the killings and those who deleted the information from the prime minister’s servers, in order to hide the traces of this crime.
