Snow precipitation throughout Albania, several villages isolated

The snow precipitations throughout the country have isolated several
villages, especially in Albania’s eastern north and south, where snow
thickness has reached one meter.
Abdulla Domi, General Secretary of the Kukes Prefecture said that the situation got worse during last night. A military division is standing by the Kukes Municipality, while Mayor Bashkim Shehu asked assistance from PM Rama to face the situation.
In the Shkoder district, snow has reached 120 centimeters in Dukagjin, 80 cm in Koplik-Dedaj-Boge, while Thethi, Boga, Bregu i Lumit, Dukagjini and Vermoshi are all isolated.
The isolated communes of Dibra are Reci, Lura and Selishta. Many residents have sent videos on Top Channel’s “You Report”, asking help for cleaning the roads.
Many villages in Librazhd were also blocked, such as Stebleva and Lunik. Two persons were blocked at the Elbasan-Librazhd national road, during their way for the Qarrishta village.
For the first time after seven years, there was snow in the seaside. While citizens seem enthusiastic about it, the weather has caused delays for several ferries.
The Korca district, in South Eastern Albania, is also covered by ice and snow, at almost 40 centimeters in some areas, causing problems with the energy. Authorities say the situation is being monitored constantly.
