The Socialist Movement for Integration drew back the request for
cancelling the tax on profit raise for the manufacturing industry from
10 to 15%.
Petrit Vasili declared that this decision was taken back since the government is planning a more complete package for supporting this sector, and this package will be presented in March.
“The possibility of having that in Parliament and following it more closely, makes it necessary to keep our proposition pending while waiting for the new package and take it in consideration very seriously”, declared Petrit Vasili, Head of the SMI Parliamentary Group.
“The SP and the SMI have agreed to compile a full package of measures, not only fiscal, but also administrative, procedural and structural ones, to support not only the manufacturing industry, which is one of the main sources of employment, but also the other supporting sectors”, declared the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Enterprising, Arben Ahmetaj.
The SMI decision caused the opposition to consider this withdrawal as catastrophic, and that it shows the power balances in the majority.
“It is now clear that in Parliament we do not have the Meta-Rama alliance, but the Rama-Meta alliance. This is the tyranic dictatorship of the executive government on this temple, and this brings a catastrophic change in the position of the SMI with manufacturers”, Berisha declared.
