SMI against excise on local products

SMI is against raising excise of local products. The Parliament Members
of this party say this initiative is absurd, and hope the government
will reflect about it.
“Absurdity or a lapsus? The government raised the excise of the local beer, but they reduced it for the import beer. The budget effect will be zero, but local products will go bankrupt. Hundreds of Albanians working in them will lose their jobs. I don’t understand how the SMI Parliament Members do not raise their voice about these clear problems”, Caka declared.
Another SMI Parliament Member, Perparim Shehu, is against the higher excise. He wrote on Twitter: “The package must have no changes in the tax on profit. I hope the Commission of Economy will reflect. It is unclear how the excise is raised for the local production and reduced for imports”, Spahiu wrote.
