Small business tax

While th fiscal package is being discussed in Parliament, the Albanian
Prime Minister, Edi Rama, chose to share with citizens the explanations
for changing the small business tax.

The Prime Minister visited some of them in the “Don Bosko” area, where he calculated their profit by removing the small business tax with the new fiscal package of 2014.

“The small business tax has a flat rate to the local business, and besides that arbitrary payment, you also pay a 10% tax on profit. The small business tax will now be zero. You will only pay the tax on profit, and that will not be 10%, but 7.5%”, Rama declared.

By explaining how every citizen who has a business will benefit from these tax changes, Rama let the businessmen make their own calculations.

The government leader declared that this measure will settle an injustice. Who profits more will pay more and who profits less will pay less. The Prime Minister promised that the profit will be significant.

“The entire system will change, so that you will not have anymore two taxes, two sets of documents, two sets of problems. You will only have a tax on profit that is reduced from 10% to 7.5%. If this doesn’t happen tomorrow, you can react”, Rama declared.
