Good news comes from one of the five EU countries that have not recognized Kosovo’s independence yet.

Slovakia decided to accept passports from Kosovo, although they have not recognized the independence of the country together with Spain, Romania, Cyprus and Greece.

The news for Top Channel was confirmed by the Deputy Foreign Minister, Petrit Selimi. “Slovakia announced that they will recognize the passport of the Republic of Kosovo. This is a good news, because it facilitates the movement and communication between the Kosovo and Slovakia citizens”, declared Minister Selimi, adding that this step is a movement towards the normalization of the movement freedom for the Kosovo citizens in the EU.

He added through the e-mail that “we are happy that the EU countries that have not recognize Kosovo are moving towards a more constructive position, on the same line that was reached in Brussels for giving to Kosovo the visa liberalization guide and the feasibility study”.
