A homage ceremony was held today at the National Theater, where
relatives, friends, colleagues, art lovers and politicians came to give
farewell to Skender Sallaku.

Friends and colleagues shared memories about the sense of humor of the “People’s Artist”, his acting talent and his positive attitude.

Fadil Hasa, actor: “It was like a school for me every time I sat and talked to Sallaku. When he wanted to tell us something, you had to listen to it carefully because he said it only once. he was a beautiful human source, to the point that he would never get mad even if you took something from him and made it yours. He had a huge heart.

Sulejman Dibra, former Director of the Tirana Comedy Theater and actor: He was the real director of this theater, for his values as an artist, director and person. He never stopped working for finding every detail. He was a powerful actor in many details, very spontaneous and never was blocked on the scene. He remained the best person for me.

Veli Rada, actor: During a tour in Switzerland, he was phenomenal. His final joke was extraordinary. He had a great desire to make us young actors grow.

Mirush Kabashi, actor: He had wonderful dedication. Until one month ago, we were together in Fier, honoring Kujtim Spahivogli. Skender was among the most enthusiastic people in that dinner with his jokes and dance.

Skender Sallaku died at 79, with a rich career. Besides being a wrestling champion and the first Albanian clown in the circus, he dedicated 60 years of his life to acting.

For years he returned into a dear figure for the Albanian people, giving plenty of smiles with his characters.
