Six municipal councilors in cities from north to southern Albania have
been removed from their duty by the Central Election Commission.
After receiving court verdicts against all these councilors, the CEC decided to terminate their mandates.
Some of them were present and presented their justifications for the court verdicts.
Rrok Rroku, from Lezha, claimed that he was convicted for political reasons. Robert Dajanaj, from Malesi e Madhe, said that he had been a minor when he was sentenced by the Court.
Based on the decriminalization law, these officials will not be allowed to work for the public administration for the next 10 or 20 years, based on the seriousness of their crimes.
