Shkoder, no road signals in accident site

The boys were celebrating a birthday, but the return road was fatal for Ledio Pirani, Orlend Mrece, Ralev Duli, Xheni Anamali and Osman Merahja.

Their car crashed against a truck loaded with logs in a cross road where there is a lack of road signals. One day after the accident, there police officers supervising the area, but in darkness, this road can be fatal.

Traffic experts say that one of the causes of this tragedy is the lack of signals.

“One of the causes in this accident is the lack of infrastructure and signs that give a priority to secondary roads. That road is in a very bad shape and the entire infrastructure is completely lacking”, says expert Gezim Zenelaj.

The Shkoder Police arrested the truck driver, Preke Ndreca, accused of violating the traffic regulations.

Regardless of the tragedies that take place in our roads, what attracts one’s attantion is the fact that the measures that are taken are never as effective to not repeat these events anymore.
