The acting Mayor of Shkoder, Voltana Ademi, sent a letter to foreign ambassadors, explaining that they are not handing over the municipality to the candidate that came as winner from the June 30th elections, which they don’t recognize.
Voltana said that the turnout of 8% proved that citizens in Shkoder don’t want Edi Rama’s candidate.
“Most of the people in Shkoder and in Albania have spoken very clearly by boycotting the monist process of this government. This majority was unable to get people to go and vote, let alone vote for them”, Ademi wrote in the letter sent to the Ambassadors, adding that after June 30th, the local elections in Albania could turn into a branch of the central government.
