Serbia has no information about when Croatia may extradite Ismail Morina, as confirmed by the Justice Minister, Nela Kuburovic.
In an interview for the Blic newspaper of Belgrade, Kuburovic said that they don’t have a deadline for the Ministry of Justice to act after the court rules the extradition.
However, it could happen within a year, a time during which Morina will be held in prison for the extradition.
Morina is still kept in prison in Dubrovnik, since June 2017 when he was arrested based on an order issued by Serbia. He is accused of encouraging criminal acts between both countries, which could lead to eight years in prison.
Morina launched a drone on October 2014 with the map of Greater Albania, and the portraits of Ismail Qemali and Isa Boletini. The drone was launched during the Serbia-Albania match, over the Belgrade stadium.
For Belgrade, this is a criminal act and they want his extradition at any cost.
Morina’s gesture infuriated Serbian nationalists and caused admiration among the Albanian ones.
He was arrested by the Croatian police while travelling to Italy, where he has been living for the past years with his family.
