In a time when an agreement was expected to be signed between Serbia and Kosovo, Serbia decided to withdraw.

In an interview for Top Channel, the head of the Kosovo Delegation, Edita Tahiri, declared that the meeting has been cancelled by Serbia.

She declared that the Serbian Delegation fears to sign an agreement that includes free travel, free trade, energy, telecommunication, cadastral documents, civil registrars, mutual recognition of diplomas, the issue of missing people and war damages on Kosovo cultural heritage.

“Although the dynamics were favoring a common agreement, the Serbian delegation frequently changed its stances by prolonging the process. As soon as we were close to an agreement, they would draw back”, Tahiri declared.

Tahiri declared that the dialogue topics never included Kosovo independence.

“Never, in any circumstance. The Dialogue is technical and Serbia knows that. The status is a closed chapter”, Tahiri declared.

The dialogue Kosovo-Serbia had started three months ago. The talks were conducted under the supervision of the European Union.
