Serbia will accept Kosovo custom stamps only if they will have “Kosovo Customs” written on them,

The news comes from the Serbian daily newspaper “Novosti”, which refers to the diplomatic sources near the European Union.

According to this newspaper, the proposition will be discussed in the dialogue round of September 2nd, where will be present the EU negotiator, Robert Cooper.

“This is a compromise that will be achieved, because both parties will be able to interpret this solution from their own point of views”, writes “Novosti”.

The well known Serbian newspaper quotes sources from Brussels who specify that this proposition does not have the term “Republic” or any symbol of Kosovo.

The Serbian negotiator Borko Stefanovic declared that Serbia cannot accept stamps that have “Republic of Kosovo” written on them.

This media source further adds that the new proposition was sent to both countries and has been accepted by UNMIK, Prishtina and Belgrade.

The Serbian refusal to recognize Kosovo stamps made the Kosovo government apply reciprocity measures against Serbia by banning all Serbian goods in Kosovo.

The Kosovo authorities declared that they were obliged to take these measures since Belgrade was not allowing Kosovo goods to be exported in Serbia and EU.
