Despite the fact that the recognition of Kosovo independence is still
going on around the world, although with lower intensity, Serbian
authorities say that they have successfully implemented the action
plan against the UN admission of the new state.
Milivoje Mihaljovic, head of the press office for the Serbian Government says that the “silent diplomacy” has worked. He added that Serbia’s lobbying plan is in an action phase, and that they are continually contacting not only with the countries that have not recognized Kosovo, but also with those who recognized it.
He also declared that Kosovo is being recognized by small countries, and this doesn’t matter, since the final issue will be resolved in the UN. Mihajlovic considers as successful the campaign against Kosovo recognition, which was undertaken by the Serbian Foreign Ministry.
