The European Commission has come up with a new strategy about Western Balkan, as an effort to encourage the reform process.

Radio Free Europe reports that in the strategy that has been approved, and that will be announced this Tuesday, only Montenegro and Serbia have clear deadlines for accession.

The strategy says that Belgrade, same as Podgorica, could be full EU members within 2025.

“The accession negotiations with Montenegro and Serbia are being held. With a positive political will, real and stable reforms, and a final solution with neighbouring countries, these two countries will be potentially ready to join in 2025”, said the text of the European Commission Strategy.

As for Albania, there is no date. But the Commission expresses its readiness to recommend opening the accession negotiations based on the conditions.

“The Commission is ready to prepare recommendations for opening the accession negotiations with Albania and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, based on the conditions that are met. With great effort and commitment, Bosnia could become a candidate for accession. Kosovo has the chance to progress with the Association-Stabilization Agreement, and progress with its European path”, says the document obtained by Radio Free Europe.
