The EU ambassador to Tirana, Ettore Sequi, met the members of the hunger
strike that is being held by the former politically persecuted people,
declaring that this issue demands an immediate solution.

He advised them to abandon the way how they are demanding their rights, and that the hunger strike is painful.

During the dialogue with the EU ambassador to Tirana, the former politically persecuted people expressed once again their requests towards the government and refused to stop the hunger strike until their requests would be fulfilled. For this they asked the help of the ambassador.

“I have read about what happened in Albanai during those 50 years, and I can only imagine what you have gone through. I think that this problem should be resolved, but the hunger strike is not something good and I believe that there must be another solution, Sequi told the hunger strikers.

“The laws passed by Berisha leave no money for us”, one of the members declared.

Meanwhile, the ambulance was not available for the hunger strikers, and neither the presence of the police.

The situation of the hunger strikers has deteriorated. One of them was obliged to abandon the strike and was hospitalized at the “Mother Theresa” hospital in Tirana.
