The Durres Municipality has sheltered Llazi Qendro, nephew of the
87-year-old woman who died two days ago in the coastal city of Durres,
after she had been evicted from the home where she had lived for
decades.

The Mayor of Durres, Vangjush Dako, declared that the normative act opposed by the Socialist Party has left many people living on the street. According to Dako, the homeless people were offered by a businessman to live in a residence he made available, but they refused, saying it was too far.

Dako underlined that the Social buildings in Durres have not been distributed yet and as result they were unable to find a shelter for the 87-year-old Sofie Qendro and her 67-year-old nephew, who lived in the last six weeks on a park bench, in front of the Durres Municipality. The cold weather caused the woman to day in the Durres Hospital.
