Self-Determination: Free Movement, submission

The representatives of the Self Determination Movement criticized the
government of Kosovo for implementing the Free Movement Agreement with
Serbia.

The head of the Self Determination Parliamentary Group, Visar Ymeri, declared that the agreement is a product of the negotiations imposed by Serbia, and the result of an unjust process.

“The agreements will determine a special relation between Kosovo and Serbia. Although special, this is a submission agreement and not one based on equality”, Ymeri declared.

Ymeri underlined that there are two facts for the Kosovo-Serbia relations, which have full compatibility.

“On one side there is Serbia, which doesn’t recognize Kosovo, and on the other there is a decision of the Kosovo Parliament, which demands political, economic and trade reciprocity with Serbia”, Ymeri declared.

“The Parliament decision expressed the aspiration of a state and their people for an equal relation with the neighboring country. While the current developments are not in the framework of the normal developments within the states”, he added.

The head of the Parliamentary Group of one of the main opposition parties warned that if the Kosovo Parliament decision will not be implemented by January, they will block the border checkpoints two weeks later.

The free movement between Kosovo and Serbia started this Monday and was confirmed by the Kosovo Interior Minister, Bajram Rexhepi, who specified that the agtreement doesn’t include only that part of the north where there are the Serbian barricades.

But the cost of the free movement will Serbia will be the most damaging, which have been considered as the highest one by travelers and especially merchants.
