With a presence of 78 Parliament Members, the Parliament started the
draft law for the anti-terrorism funding, a draft-law inherited from the
Berisha government.
The Socialist Parliament Member, Taulant Balla, raised questions about the law that seizes ssets of criminal organizations, when the state institution reports show that the entire assets seized so far mount only up to 10 million EUR, a figure that is much lower than traffic fines.
According to Balla, this is another law which shows that the Parliament has never inspected properly the implementation of the laws.
The Parliament has also changed the nominal voting procedure, allowing every name on the race to be voted, even though the first one might reach the majority of 71 votes.
With this new procedure, Petrit Ahmeti was elected Head of the Regulatory Entity of Energy with 76 votes. His rival, Agim Nashi, received only six votes, showing that four of the present members voted in favor of two names, although the Parliamentary Group Leader of the Socialist Party, Gramoz Ruci, had asked Parliament Members to avoid double votes.
The parliament voted Sokol Como as member of the High Council of Justice. In this session they also passed a new draft-law of the new government, regarding the auditing of every ministry for their debt to foreign and domestic businesses.
