In the second round of applications for the Albanian universities, which lasted from September 17-19, about 6 thousand high school graduates have applied.
In the second round, all those high school graduates who could not win any of the preferred branches in the first round, or high school graduates who had exams taken in the fall, had the opportunity to apply.
The results will be published tomorrow on September 21, the educational authorities announced.
“Tirana had the highest number of applications. The Agricultural University had over 1,600 applications, followed by the Polytechnic University with about 1,300. Medicine has about 1,000 applications, but it should be borne in mind that almost all quotas have been exhausted in that faculty. In the districts, Durrës leads with over 1,000 applications, followed by Elbasan, Shkodra, Vlora and so on”, said the official of state agency RASH, Arjan Xhelaj, adding that after the completion of the two rounds of registration, the expectations are that over 21 thousand students start the new academic year.
The new academic year in Albania starts on October 2, but graduates who are not registered in any branch, will have one last chance in the free phase of two weeks in October, the officials say.
