Gudar Beqiraj, former Vice Chairman of the Science Academy, was elected Chairman with 28 votes in favor and three against.
A few minutes before the voting process, Prime Minister Rama considered it a farce and warned that the government would not pay for it if they don’t reform.
The Chairman, after being elected, said that the institutions under the Academy will be the ones to bring the reform.
“I agree with the government and I will cooperate to realize a reform that will take the Academy forward”, Beqiraj said.
However, the Prime Minister stated after the voting that the government has interrupted funds for the Science Academy.
