With the reopening of schools on September 14, as predicted, the spread of the coronavirus has intensified.

Now new outbreaks of covid-19 infection have been created in educational institutions, of which the most problematic is the 9-year school ‘Jeronim de Rada’ where 9 teachers have been infected, including the director of the institution. 6 others who had close contact with them were quarantined.

Covid 19 infection has affected 1 teacher in the 9-year school Avni Rustemi as well as two others in the suburban schools of Qesarake.

The teachers of two gymnasiums, 1 in Partizani high school and another in Asim Vokshi, were also infected by the virus.

Meanwhile students, although at risk, seem to underestimate the situation by not respecting the health measures. No masks seem to be worn in classrooms and gatherings.

The General Directorate of Education told Top Channel that despite a shortage of 20 teachers in Tirana schools, teaching continues normally and there are no isolated classrooms.

Authorities add that all teachers affected by the coronavirus have been immediately replaced in each school by the 1,000 additional staff and 2,300 interns on standby.
