Allergic diseases are increasing a a frightening rate. Almost 7% of the
population is allergic, but the number is increasing with young
children, who are not cured properly, which makes it turn into asthma
after a period.
“The allergies are turning into the epidemic disease of this century. This is a scary growing trend. In the past decade we have had a 50% growth of all allergic diseases. This is for all age groups, but especially for young children, adults and senior citizens”, declared Dr.Mehmet Hoxha.
The number of allergic persons doubles every 10 years. Doctors say that an allergic child is born as such, but allergy can show up later in life. The high level of pollution, canned food, fat and obesity are some of the factors that affect allergies.
“The lifestyle, food, the increased level of hygiene and mostly the consumption of canned food have played a role, together with the rare consumption of vitamin D. These things favor the allergic diseases, but the atmospheric pollution is the scariest one, one of the main causes for this disease”, says Dr.Hoxha.
Another problem for allergic patients is the consumption of tobacco, because it affects the disease. Active consumption gives bronchitis, and many doctors in Albania don’ are unable to give the right treatment for allergies.
40% of the allergic patients are prone to be asthmatic.
