The renowned Italian writer, Roberto Saviano, greeted the Albanian
elections on his Facebook page which has 1.5 million followers.
He makes a short summary of what happened in Albania, including the murder in Lac, and also the victory of the left coalition.
“Albania’s culture, history and geography is double tiedn to Italy”, says the journalist who lives under the protection of the police, after he published his book “Gomorra”, in which he reported the affairs of the Napolitan mafia.
His book was published in 42 countries, inicluding Albania, and it seems he has a special connection with our country, for which he says:
“We hope that the change that comes after these elections will be vital to stop Berisha’s corruption and start a real fight against the Albanian mafia gangs”, he declared.
Hundreds of comments arrived within one hour, many from Albanian readers. Most of them thank him for the attention given to the elections in Albania.
There are people who note that he knows the Italian corruption system, but not the Albanian one. However, his warm message remains: “It is time to allow Albania have the change that will bring this country to Europe”.
