Saranda, Cipa wins the municipality

The vote counting process for the Saranda Municipality is over.

29 voting centers have been counted and the winner is Stefan Cipa, candidate of the Socialist Party and its allies.

Stefan Cipa has won 7234 of 12210 votes, leaving 4976 votes to the Democratic Party candidate, Edmond Gjoka. The victory of Mr. Cipa was confirmed by the head of the Zonal Election Commission of Saranda, Eleron Gjoni.

Soon after his victory, Mr. Cipa decalred that on May 8th, the citizens voted the best alternative. He thanked the voters of this municipality who, according to him, showed wisdom and maturity in these elections. He promised to start working immediately for improving the city infrastructure, demanding the cooperation of the opposition, in order to develop tourism in Saranda.

The Socialist Party supporters are continuing the celebration, driving around with their cars covered with banners.
