Salary increases are approved by the government, some professions also benefit from bonuses

The meeting of the government today brought decisions to advance the salary increase of the public administration and its support sectors.

The government also approved a draft law to give the green light to competition for pay in the private sector in some professions.

“Some salary categories will receive special bonuses as they must be competitive with the market, such as the IT sector or others related to cyber security, or agriculture where experts are needed” – said the Minister of Finance Delina Ibrahimaj.

She also spoke about the approval of some decisions on salary increases.

“Today we approved several draft decisions related to salary increases and the first step of increases for the health and education sectors, and also for the security sector.

“Specifically, the prison police, the state police, the firefighters” – added the minister.

Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu said that this is a historic phase of salary increases for the white shirts. “With the government’s decision, we will have a historic salary increase for specialist doctors, which will be 50,000 lek per month for each specialist doctor who works in our hospitals and polyclinic structures throughout the country.

We will have a 7% increase for doctors and nurses and medical science technicians “- said Minister Manastirliu.

Another approved decision was a salary increase for the security sector. “In the Firefighters sector, the increase reaches 14% for all levels.

As far as the Guard of the Republic is concerned, at this stage we have an increase according to ranks, where the lowest rank has an increase of about 22% since September. And in other higher ranks it goes to about 7-10%. In the State Police system, we have an increase that goes from 7% for the higher levels, up to 25% for the inspector, first inspector or second inspector levels” – added Interior Minister Çuçi.
