Russia appealed the West to stop meddling with what they call internal matters of Macedonia.
The Foreign Ministry of Russia accused western countries of using Albanians to bring in power a party that lost elections. The requests to have Albanian as 2nd official language was considered by Moscow an ultimatum.
“The efforts planned from outside of Macedonia, different from the will of local voters, only escalate the current crisis. This is why it is important that foreign interventions should stop”, said the Spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Russia’s reaction came after Federica Mogherini asked President Gjorgje Ivanov to withdraw his decision to not authorize Zaev to form a new government.
