Russia hands note of protest to Albania, two diplomats expelled

The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned ambassadors of foreign countries that expelled Russian diplomats to hand them notes of protest and update them with Russia’s counter-response.

There were 23 countries notified by Russia, with Albania among them.

The Albanian Ambassador to Russia, Arben Gazioni, was summoned for clarifications.

Russia asked Foreign Ambassadors to send home an equal number of employees to the ones they expelled.

Albania was asked to take back two employees whose identity was not made known.
