Rrajca’s blind embroidery artist

70 years ago, Gurie Hysa was only six when a land mine took her eyes and her brother’s life.
Despite lacking her eye sight, Gurie learned how to work with traditional folkloric embroidery, typical of the Rrajca area.
Her mother taught her how to work, since a young age, and even today she only wears the traditional clothes.
Guria has a collection of folkloric costumes she has never wanted to sell. It is the heritage she wants to leave to her family.
