The 55-year-old from Vlore, Dove Xhaferaj, should be still alive today
if the Durres-Rrogozhine road would have been reconstructed on time.
This road has been under construction for years, and each day it creates new traps for drivers. The deadline of the road was June 30th 2009, but four years later the work is still continuing with a very slow pace, which is the main reason of many accidents that take place in this area. The signals are missing and pedestrians don’t’ have overpasses to avoid dangerous traffic.
A passenger van crashed this weekend by causing the death of one woman, while many others are injured, Other victims have been injured in different times, including a young mother with a infant who were hit by a vehicle on the road while trying to cross over.
Not only the vehicles, but the pedestrians too are facing death while they try to cross the road. The road from Plepa to Golem has overpasses and blockage high leveled borders. But from Mali I Robit to Rrogozhina there are no signs to discipline the traffic, and the contracted company for this road doesn’t seem to work fast enough.
Sources say that the company has had problems because the state has not paid them for the work that has been done. The state remains the main responsible for the situation of the road that keeps injuring people and even taking innocent lives.
