The Albanian Road Authority Director, Afrim Qendro, declared for the media that there should be no panic in Albania about bridges, and that there will be interventions in construction works that appear to be problematic.
The clarification comes after the Genoa tragedy, and the panic noticed by citizens about bridges around the country.
“The problematic bridges have been made public and there is an ongoing bidding for their reconstruction. The winning company will be announced within two weeks”, Qendro said, adding that the biggest problem with bridges are some companies which dug by the legs of some existing bridges to exploit riverbed gravel.
