Supporters of Gazment Bardhi and the group that supports former prime minister Sali Berisha, joined today for the first time in a meeting of the parliamentary group inside the headquarters of the Albanian Democratic Party.

After almost two years since the seat was taken over by the “Re-establishment” group, Bardhi’s supporters used to gather in the halls of the Presidency of the Assembly or in hotels in Tirana, as today a step for the union between them has been formalized, gathering more than 40 MPs.

Top Channel’s Elda Menga was told that three MPs did not participate in today’s meeting.

The former vice-president of the Party, Jorida Tabaku, was also absent during today’s meeting due to health reasons.

While Sajmir Korreshi, who is in France, and Dashnor Sula, who is in Italy, were also absent.

Democratic MP Ervin Salianji welcomed the new change within the opposition camp.

“Democrats have given the verdict, they want union! Albania needs a strong opposition, which without unity is weak. The union is the first step for any transformation and enlargement of the opposition! Further decisions will only be of resistance and action against the serious danger that threatens the country from the corrupt rule of Prime Minister Edi Rama!” – writes Salianji.
