The Kosovo Academic Scholar, Rexhep Qosja, is the newest resident of the
Albanian Republic. On Monday he swore in front of the Tirana Municipal
Unit 5 as the newest resident.
“I vow to implement correctly all constitutional rights, obligations and laws of the Republic of Albania”, Qosja declared.
After applying for the identity card and passport, Qosja described this as a double joy in an exclusive interview for Top Channel.
“I became citizen of Albania in 1999, and this was a special joy for me, because I became citizen of a country that in Kosovo we call ‘Mother Albania’. Even then it was an extraordinary joy for me. Now I am becoming citizen of Unit 5 of Tirana, and this is a double joy”, Qosja declared.
Rexhep Qosja received the Albanian citizenship in 1999, by Presidential decree no. 2346, which recognizes full obligations as citizen. Besides this, he also has the citizenship of Kosovo. Qosja is not the only Kosovo Albanian who has received the Albanian passport. A few days ago, the famous singer of Kosovo, Nexhmie Pagarusha, also received the Albanian citizenship.
