The Democratic Party Parliamentary Group meeting focused on the Dibra
municipality loss and what the opposition must do against what they call
“a popular vote purchase by Prime Minister Edi Rama”.
According to Basha, the Democratic Party did everything a political party can do in these elections, but the criminal usage of the police by Edi Rama, according to him, and a calculated vote purchase, showed what the Prime Minister is preparing for the next elections.
Two Democratic Party MPs did not share the same opinion with Basha. Eduard Selami and Majlinda Bregu don’t believe that the vote purchase was the main reason for the loss. According to them, the problem comes from a poor organization and wrong alli9ances.
Eduart Selami requested an urgent meeting of the National Council to analyze the situation, because, according to him, the DP has suffered only losses under the direction of Basha. Selami said that the DP needs to accept that the loss was also because of their own mistakes.
This was the same stance held by Majlinda Bregu, who said that Basha is responsible for some ridiculous alliances, and that the DP cannot wait for the Socialist Movement for Integration to invite them. Bregu said that the DP is in a total confusion in a national level, and that the local branches are getting lost.
