At the International Tourism Convention, organized for the first time in Tirana, in cooperation with the World Tourism Organization, mayor Erion Veliaj was also present, expressing his pride for the organization of the event in the Albanian capital.
“I’m looking forward to this event, to have an experience of how we can share the tourist package together, how to visit each other more, as before we welcome the foreigners from the world, we make sure we welcome each other,” he said.
He further listed the reasons that have led to the increase in the number of tourists in Tirana.
“Tirana this year is the European City of Sports, before it was the European Capital of Youth.
We used this opportunity to bring as many activities as possible, to generate for the economy and to ensure that the image of our country and region is enhanced to become attractive to other countries, unlike the country that once was the most isolated in Europe” – said Veliaj, among other things.
