Restrictive measures against gamble industry

The government is preparing a new law which defines a series of measures for limiting the gambling industry.

The draft that is being discussed by the Ministry of Finances makes it more difficult for the licensing of any gambling activity. According to him, the fee for a sportive lottery shop will be ten times bigger. The permits will also have a shorter time, with a five-year term.

The license fee will be higher even for electronic gambling shops, which will pay from 1 million ALL each year, to 25 million ALL each year for five years.

But a strong license fee is not the only restrictive condition through which the new law will try to put this industry under control.

The total number of sportive bet shops will be limited to 300. Different from the current law, in which a betting company might open as many secondary shops they want, the new lawn limits them to 300. As for the electronic casinos, the secondary registrations will be no more than 5.

The third restricting measure foreseen in the draft is the one that limits the location of casinos. According to the new draft, there will be no more casinos inside cities. They will be placed only in tourist areas and only in five star hotels in residential areas.

Different from the current system, which taxes gambling games with fixed fees and for total number of computers, the new draft calculates the tax on the net income, and it will be 25%.

For casinos there will be only a 3% increase, while sportive bets, besides the 25%, will pay a fee of 40,000 each month for every shop.
