The Foreign Commission at the European Parliament voted the
draft-resolution for Albania after the debate that was held one day ago.
Recent information suggest that the resolution drafted by rapporteur Knut Fleckenstein has some new amends added.
Sources from Brussels say that the draft resolution was voted with 51 votes in favor and three against.
The political groups confirmed the support for the draft-resolution, including the quick start of the negotiations in case Albania has enough progress with the five key priorities and holds a stable political dialogue.
The evaluation of the rapporteur Knut Fleckenstein was “half full/half empty glass”, especially as regards the fight against organized crime.
From 192 amends in total, 140 were grouped in 16 compromise amends, 9 others were considered acceptable by the rapporteur, while were rejected the amend of the National Front and of other European Parliament Members from groups with extreme views on the EU accession.
